The Government of Karnataka on September 09, 2026, issued the order for the Revised Form 16A of the Karnataka Land Revenue Rules, 1966.
The following has been stated:
• The Order revises Form 16-A to strengthen the accuracy, transparency, and verification of land records. The revised form will incorporate Aadhaar-seeded particulars of the recorded holder, subject to applicable law and privacy requirements, except for non-resident Indian owners whose transactions are based on documents other than Aadhaar. It will also integrate with the digitally maintained Akarbandh for land extent, classification, and other relevant particulars.
• The revised Form 16-A will include geo-referenced cadastral/survey sketches, Survey Number/Hissa overview maps, ULPIN and Open Location Code, along with a QR code or other approved digital mechanism for accessing authorized land records, including the Record of Rights, old mutation records, Akarbandh, survey/cadastral sketch and applicable encumbrance information. It may be digitally generated and authenticated through the authorized land-record management system and will facilitate office-based verification and interoperability with other Government databases and digital platforms.
